About me

My name is Cailey Fryar, I am a freshman at Hardin Simmons University. I was born in Midland Texas and grew up in Abilene and Merkel. My hometown is in Merkel Texas which is about 15 minutes from Abilene. I am going to Hardin Simmons because I didn't want to be far away from my hometown so i could spend time with my family. I am a nursing major and once I graduate HSU my goal is to go to Anesthesiology school. Ever since I was little I have watched everyone in my family go into the medical field so i have always been very interested in it and wanted to follow in my mom’s footsteps.

I am currently a cheerleader at HSU, I have been cheering ever since I could walk. My mom had me in cheer when I was two and ever since then I have traveled all over the world for competitive cheer including a cheer competition on a cruise ship. I also joined the junior high cheer team at school when i was in the 7th grade and cheered into high school with competitive cheer on the side. I would say that cheering is my favorite hobby.

I have 2 younger sisters , a younger brother and a older sister. There is Madison who is 13, Maciee who is 8, Hayden who is 17 and Autum who is 23. My parents are also in the process as of now of adopting a little girl who is 7 months named Nevaeh. My family is very big, loud and noisy but there is never a dull moment around any of us.

At my house we have two blue heelers named Lilly and Kodah and i also have a Pomeranian named Roxie. We live out in the country so we have a lot of other animals including cattle. When I was little My dad always had me in stock showing so I showed steers and pigs just like my father did in School.

  1. Hey what's up Cailey, I am also a freshman and we both chose Hardin Simmons for the same reason to be close to family. I live here in Abilene and my house is really close to HSU, it's literally like a five minute drive to get to campus so it is really convenient, but dang you have been cheering for a long time that's pretty cool!

  2. Cailey, I loved this post! While reading, I felt like this post really reflected who you are as an individual. I loved how you went so in depth about your interest in cheer because it seems to be a REALLY big part of what makes you, you. You seem to be kind and very determined which I think makes you perfect for going into the medical field. Keep up the good work!
